Residents of Oklahoma who experienced a furlough triggered by state budget cuts have a new resource to turn to through the Oklahoma Employees Credit Union.
|The $314 million CU has launched www.helpingok.com, a site that contains furlough news, financial tools, a frequently asked questions section, a blog and other resources. OECU President/CEO Mark Kelly said the idea for the site came about after the cooperative did some research and found that such a resource did not exist.
|Kelly said many Oklahomans have experienced furloughs and he is hoping that other organizations will become involved including offering discounts to those impacted by the state's budget cuts.
