Redstone Federal Credit Union is mourning the death of its Director Emeritus James Blackburn.
Blackburn is credited with playing a major role in the Huntsville, Ala.-based credit union for nearly half a century. During those years, he was active in ensuring that Redstone FCU remained a strong and positive financial force in the community.
"Jim's death is a significant loss to all of us at Redstone Federal Credit Union," said Redstone FCU President/CEO Joseph H. Newberry. "I have had the privilege of working with Jim for many years and his commitment, loyalty and dedication to this credit union will be missed. He was a great friend to many, many members, volunteers, staff, and to all of the board of directors and their families. He was well respected in the community and a huge supporter of the credit union movement. Jim was always there when we needed him for guidance and leadership."
