On Monday look for 12-year old Fabian Fernandez-Han to ring the Closing Bell on the New York Stock Exchange.

The honor is in recognition of Fernandez-Han winning the NYSE Financial Future Challenge by creating Oink-a-Saurus, a fun new iPhone/iTouch app that teaches kids about the stock market and investing. Designed to show kids how investment opportunities exist all around them, the app tracks Web browsing and buying habits while providing an alternate option of what would happen if the money spent was saved or invested. Instead of just buying something, users can go from learning about the company that makes it, to buying/selling that company's shares in a stock market simulator. The app also includes a news service that provides teen-friendly stock market and investing information.

Launched this past September by the NYSE Foundation, By Kids for Kids Co. and K12, Inc., the competition challenged young people to submit ideas on how to engage, excite, motivate and educate their peers about financial markets and investing.

In addition to the national recognition at the NYSE, the Conroe, Texas resident will receive $2,500 to jumpstart his portfolio. Joining Fernandez-Han on the NYSE visit will be guests from By Kids for Kids Co. and K12 Inc.
