As a way to generate good will with the college crowd, Clearview Federal Credit Union of Pittsburgh has been distributing free rally towels to students or fans showing a ticket stub for an athletic event at nearby Robert Morris University. So far, Clearview, located in suburban Moon Township, has given out 200 of the towels at its branches to members who show the ticket stubs after attending a RMU home football, basketball, or hockey game. The credit union had earlier this year placed a 2,000 towel order with a vendor. In a separate promotion with a charity tie-in, Clearview unveiled a series of radio ads promoting CU donations to a pediatrics charity and offering to make a $40 donation per each three-point basket made during a University of Pittsburgh men's basketball game this season. Proceeds will go to Variety the Children's Charity. As for the rally towels, Clearview designed the "Athletics Colonial" logo and "Go RUMU" message, which has now become an element of new-found school spirit, according to college officials. "Our aim has been go give back to the community and what better way than to give our backyard university some added school spirit," said Mark Brennan, president/CEO.
