The Texas Credit Union League Wednesday used today's Veteran's Day Celebration and holiday to once again pay special tribute to the victims of the Fort Hood shooting tragedy with a message appearing on its e-mail bulletin.
"We pause our traditional daily newsletter today to remember those who have served, those who are serving here and overseas, and those who paid the ultimate price for our country and our freedoms," the bulletin said.
The league honored the "service men and women of Fort Hood, and their families, who are victims of a recent violent act on home soil."
"A special fund, the 'Fort Hood Support Fund' has been established for the purpose of helping future needs of those men and women. Custodian of the fund is Texas Partners Federal CU, Attn: Fort Hood Support, 1011 Wales Drive, Killeen, TX 76549," said the league. "We are working with Fort Hood on the final destination of the funds."
The bulletin quoted President Obama's Fort Hood remarks Tuesday concluding with a final message, "God Bless America."
