Credit union donations to help the victims and families of the Fort Hood shooting massacre were starting to pour in from across Texas and the U.S. Monday with special accounts being set up by foundations and individual CUs.
Pentagon FCU, which has a branch on the base, said its facility has already contributed $5,000 to the Fort Hood "Chaplain's Fund." The Pentagon FCU foundation is reaching out with assistance through an arrangement with Enterprise Rental Car to offer cars for victims' families traveling in the area.
"We are also in touch with base command about supporting lodging needs," said Mary Lynn Stevens, vice president of the foundation.
