In a series of Webinars on the economic downturn, Southern New Hampshire University has included a session to find out how credit unions are faring during the current banking crisis.

The sessions, titled "Co-operatives in Troubled Times," will include a Webinar on how credit unions are helping members manage the economic downturn and build savings. The session will also feature strategies on working with low-income residents to gain access to banking services. Southern New Hampshire University's Center for Cooperatives and Community Economic Development said the Webinars are organized around a cooperative model and how they have fared during a time when for-profit companies have been stricken with capital, liquidity and credit quality issues.

The Oct. 14 panel is scheduled to include Ronald Covey, president/CEO of St. Mary's Bank, Clifford Rosenthal, president/CEO of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and Daniel Egan, president of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island Credit Union Leagues.
