CommunityAmerica Credit Union is now using a new data-loss prevention appliance to sniff out potential trouble from inside and out.

The Lenexa, Kan., CU is using PacketSure from Palisade Systems of Ames, Iowa, to monitor network traffic and prevent the unauthorized internal or external transmission of potentially compromising data, such as account numbers and other identifying information.

"We've been very impressed with the effectiveness of both the data loss prevention and URL filtering capacities of PacketSure, which continues to enable us to protect our members from potential data leak threats," said Rich Whyrick, network security manager at $1.6 billion CACU.
