Eight TFCU employees received MBAs in management and leadership: Nesconset Assistant Branch Manager Gail-Sue Capone, Farmingville branch Manager Paul Cuddy, North Babylon branch Manager Arthur Matz Jr., Loan Disbursement Clerk Amanda Elbert, Amityville branch Platform Assistant Nicholas Seidler, Amityville branch Assistant Manager Joshua Sweeney, Market Research Analyst Michael Wentz and Bay Shore branch Senior Teller Tieara Williams. Three TFCU employees, Human Resources Quality Assurance/Training Specialist Michelle Buck, Holbrook office operations call center Manager Shannon Muller and member services Support Specialist Melissa Silver received BBAs in management and leadership.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, made two announcements. Susanne Serna, senior financial consultant, has earned a financial planner certification. Serna completed six courses in approximately two years and recently passed the 2009 CFP certification examination. In her current position, Serna works with the security service investment group developing plans to assist members in reaching their individual financial goals, including retirement, investing, education, insurance and estate planning. Serna joined the security service investment group as a senior financial consultant in December 2002 and has more than 10 years of experience in financial consulting. Before joining the credit union, Serna was employed with AXA Advisors as a financial consultant. Jared Ihrig has joined SSFCU's risk management department as a senior compliance officer. He was previously a practicing attorney and partner in Middleberg Riddle & Gianna's national mortgage compliance group in Dallas. In his new position, he will develop and maintain policies and procedures regarding credit union products and services to ensure continuous compliance with all pertinent federal and state laws and regulations. He has previously held positions as a director of compliance for American Airlines Federal Credit Union and a senior auditor for Ernst & Young LLP.
Augusta VAH Federal Credit Union, Augusta, Ga., announced that Phyllis M. Cochran is its new president/CEO. Cochran was formerly the CEO of Richmond Community Federal Credit Union and has more than 25 years of experience in the credit union industry.

PARDA Federal Credit Union, Auburn Hills, Mich., announced two promotions. Kimberly Jones is the new executive vice president/chief financial officer. Jones has been with the credit union since November of 2000 and previously served as chief financial officer. Jill Reinert is the new director of human resources and sales. Jill has been with the credit union since February of 2008 and previously served as the human resources/training manager.
Idaho Credit Union League, Boise, Idaho, has named Val Guenther, CEO of Lewis Clark Credit Union in Lewiston, the winner of this year's outstanding professional of year award. Guenther has been involved with Idaho credit unions for more than 30 years and is active in the North Central Idaho Chapter of Credit Unions, currently serving as president of that group.

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, named Ryan McGough manager of the Sparks branch located at 1995 E. Prater Way. He has worked in the financial services industry for more than five years. McGough replaces Tammy Cantrelle-Smith, who transferred to the new branch located at 700 Los Altos Parkway in Sparks.
Visterra Credit Union, Moreno Valley, Calif., has announced the promotions of Janet Duhaime to the position of senior vice president/chief operating officer and Tommie Shryock to the position of senior vice president/chief financial officer. DuHaime has more than 20 years of bank and credit union experience, the last seven years having been as vice president, operations at the credit union. Shryock, has more than 30 years of credit union experience and has been with Visterra CU since 1996. Previously, he spent 10 years as vice president of finance at two different credit unions and was an independent auditor for several CPA firms specializing in services to state and federal credit unions.
Greater Nevada Credit Union, Carson City, Nev., has hired Jeff Bravo as the manager for its North Carson branch. In this capacity, Bravo is responsible for coaching staff and directing all branch activities. He comes to Greater Nevada with more than 20 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, most recently as a premier market manager at Bank of America's premier banking and investment group.
