The Montana Credit Union Network said teller Kathy Keenan-Swanson has the knowledge and expertise to fill the vacant seat of Democratic Rep. Dan Villa.
"We're thrilled that Kathy has been tapped as a possible replacement for Rep. Villa's seat in the Montana legislature," said Beth Satre, director of communications and public relations and the Montana CU Network. "As an Anaconda native and a long-time staff member at the local credit union, she knows the community, its people and their needs from top to bottom."
Keenan-Swanson, the head teller at $76 million Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union, was recently selected as one of three candidates to take over Villa's legislative role. The Montana native has been with the credit union since 1988 and comes from a long family line of politicians.

Montana is a very credit-union friendly state, Keenan-Swanson said. After serving on tax appeal, planning and zoning boards and raising her four children, she is ready to take the next step.
"I'm a little older, I am able to step back and look. Now is the time for my voice to be heard," said Keenan-Swanson, who is the mother of four and feels strongly about job creation, helping the poor and environmental issues.
A final candidate selection is expected to come by next week.
