Credit union managers from around the country gathered in Grand Rapids, Mich., recently for CU*Answers' annual leadership conference and golf outing.

The conference-with the theme "My Credit Union, Realized Dreams Start Here"-was led by CU*Answers CEO Randy Karnes and was attended by 140 credit union clients of the CUSO and another 55 vendors and staff members, the company said.

The conference was held at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in CU*Answers' hometown. It included sessions on CU*Answers' "vision for partnership during the upcoming year" and breakout sessions on topics such as call center, compliance and lending engine strategies.

The golf outing, meanwhile, was held at nearby Saskatoon Golf Club in Alto, Mich., and included a hole-in-one by Jon Denhof, board member for Kent County Credit Union in Grand Rapids. He won his choice of airline tickets or a cruise for two.

The three-day event also included CU*Answers' annual board meeting. There, CEO Scott McFarland of $241 million Berrien Teachers CU of St. Joseph, Mich., was elected to the CUSO's board. Re-elected to three-year terms were Ray Ward of $37 million Kent County CU and Chris Butler of $106 million Community CU of LaCrosse, Wis.

CU*Answers, provider of the CU*BASE core processing system and other services, said it now has 165 client credit unions that represent nearly 1.5 million members and $10 billion in credit union assets.
