Local consumers have judged and found Summit Credit Union's Pay It Forward winner.
Pay It Forward is the credit union's grassroots charity effort, where participants were given $10 and asked what they would do for someone else with it. Responses made at Summit's 20 branch locations were videotaped and posted to the credit union's microsite (payitforward.summitcreditunion.com) for the community to vote for their favorite.
Winner Elizabeth Lease's "Giving Relative" video pledge to hand the $10 to her sister, who had to quit her job because her lupus symptoms became too severe, earned the most votes. As the grand prize winner, Lease received $500 and the credit union donated $500 to her sister's favorite charity, The Lupus Foundation of America, Wisconsin Chapter.

With the popularity of the Pay It Forward program and the goodwill it generated, Summit also donated $500 to the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection, which was the second and third place video winners' charity of choice.
