Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, Aberdeen, Md., honored 26 employees of the credit union for their service to the credit union at the milestones of 10 through 25 years. The ceremony was held at the Richmond Ballroom in Englewood, Md. The credit union believes that its success is incumbent upon their long-term employees and their dedication to the credit union and the members that serve in the community. Honored for their 25 years of service were, Susan Kemen and Tina Mike. Honored for 20 years of service were Lynne MacLeod, Louise Oldland, Barbara Poff, and Janet Self. Honored for 15 years of service were Shawna Barben and Margaret Halstead. Honored for ten years of service were Paul Slaby, Diedra Blevin, Michele Funk, Claudia Holman, Kirk Ingold, Laurie Klucczynski, Elizabeth Lapointe, Cheryl Narizzano, Robin Remines, Diane Semenkow and Patricia Wackford.
Holy Rosary Credit Union, Rochester N.H., announced that Erica Tremblay has been awarded employee of the quarter for the first quarter of 2009. The award recipient is chosen for their honorable qualities and their dedication to the job. Erica has received the award not only for demonstrating those qualities but also because of her encouraging attitude and assistance in the workplace. Erica has been with the credit union since 2005 when she started as a part-time teller at the Rochester branch. She was quickly promoted to a full-time position as senior teller of the Farmington branch. Soon after her promotion, Erica expressed interest in the lending aspect of the business and she was transferred to the mortgage and loan center as the new-loan processor.
GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner, Mass., recognized Henry Robichaud for his 50 years of service as director of the credit union. Robichaud had served as director of the credit union since 1959. In 2009 he became director emeritus. Over the years Robinchaud's service to the credit union can be numerically quantified. His service includes over 800 board meetings and 5,000 hours of commitment. In recognition of his service, he received a proclamation from GFA's Chairman Michael Horrigan as well as citations from the Massachusetts legislature.
SOUTH
Truliant Federal Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., announced that David Spencer has joined the Financial Advisors at Truliances, a subsidiary of Truliant Federal Credit Union, as its newest financial adviser. Spencer previously served as financial adviser for AXA Equitable in Charlotte, N.C. Prior to joining AXA Equitable Financial, Spencer held positions with Linpac/Filmco and the Letica Corp.
Five Star Credit Union, Dothan, Ala., announced that Bridget Riley has been hired as internal auditor. Riley has 15 years of financial industry experience in branch management, business banking, commercial lending and compliance.
El Paso Employees Federal Credit Union, announced the promotion of Gloria Guerra to manager of its collections department. Guerra joined El Paso last year and brough experience in collection work in the financial services industry as well as management and customer service. Guerra is a native of El Paso, graduating from El Paso High School and El Paso Community College.
Florida Commerce Credit Union, Tallahassee, Fla., announced that Samantha Strickland was named vice president of growth and brand management. Strickland joined Florida Commerce in 1998 as a communications coordinator. She was promoted a year later to director of marketing. As director of marketing she was responsible for developing a new brand identity that increased membership over 2005. Strickland oversees all internal and external communications, advertising and promotions, product development, consumer education and community outreach. She chairs the FSU Film School Producers Guild, serves on the board of the Florida Credit Union League Marketing Council and a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class 20. She volunteers with the Junior Achievement program, which teaches high school and elementary students marketing and life skills.
WEST
KeyPoint Credit Union, Santa Clara, Calif., announced that Jeff Peabody will serve as its new vice president of marketing, business development and e-services. Peabody will also serve as the president of CUSO KeyPoint Financial Services Inc., the wholly owned subsidiary of KeyPoint Credit Union. Peabody brings over 35 years financial services industry experience with him. Prior to joining KeyPoint, he was vice president of marketing and business development for CommonWealth Central Credit Union.
Meriwest Credit Union, San Jose, Calif., announced that Julie Kirsch, the chief operating officer of the credit union, has been elected to the board of Meriwest Mortgage, a subsidiary of Meriwest Credit Union. Kirsch has been elected to serve as the corporate secretary to the organization. Kirsch has served Meriwest Credit Union in various capacities since she joined in 1991 to serve as vice president of marketing. Kirsch was promoted to chief operating officer in 1996 and was promoted to executive vice president in 2000.
Oregon Employees Federal Credit Union, Salem, Ore., announced that Kent C. White will be the credit union's new president/CEO. White brings over 17 years of financial experience to the credit union. Prior to joining Oregon Employees Federal Credit Union, White was the vice president of marketing at Amplify Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas.
