The seized Western Corporate Federal Credit Union's three-day annual meeting, Future Forum educational conference and CFO Forum have been replaced with a town hall tour. Registration checks sent for the previously scheduled Disneyland event have been refunded, according to a WesCorp release sent today.
"This year will be a challenging one for credit unions financially, and we have already heard from many members that their travel budgets have been reduced," the release stated.
The first half-day town hall meeting will be May 18 at Pomona's Sheraton Fairplex Hotel, located at the LA County fairgrounds complex. Pomona is particularly convenient for Southern California members, as the Fairplex is located at the conjunction of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties.

Convenience, low or no travel costs and visibility appear to be goals for new WesCorp CEO Phil Perkins. Subsequent town hall meetings are planned in a variety of locations throughout the Western states; details will come soon, the release said. The Pomona agenda serves Perkins up twice, once for a general session, and again during a meet and greet lunch.
Two other general sessions will cover WesCorp's overall performance, the current economic environment, the likelihood of a recovery in 2009 and WesCorp's position.
