Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Carol Malecki, past president of Educational Credit Union, to the Kansas Credit Union Council.
"Kansans depend on reliable financial institutions on a daily basis," Sebelius said in a statement. "I am thankful for the dedicated members of this council who ensure that Kansans can continue to rely on credit unions across the state."
Malecki has spent 27 years in the credit union movement. A former board director of the Topeka Credit Bureau and financial adviser at Cornerstone, she will serve a three-year term on the council.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has appointed David Cibrian and A. John Yoggerst to the Texas Credit Union Commission. Cibrian is a partner with law firm Strasburger and Price LLP. Yoggerst is president and owner of AJY and Associates, a financial services firm, and general partner and owner of Leeper-Yoggerst Interests Inc., a development firm.
