The "iBelong" awareness campaign, launched in 2007 by the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and now in two other states, is spreading next week to Vermont with a TV ad blitz being licensed by the Association of Vermont Credit Unions.

Starting April 6, AVCU said the "iBelong" ads would begin airing during morning network TV shows, late afternoon talk programs as well as prime time and cable slots.

"Drawing on the positively themed, high quality media developed for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, Vermont consumers will soon be seeing high energy messages that reinforce the benefits of belonging to a credit union, federal insurance, member-ownership, better rates and lower fees," said the AVCU.

In addition, the branding campaign will also stress the ease in joining a CU, safety/soundness, in addition to service promotion, said the Vermont group.

Little more than a year ago, the Illinois Credit Union League signed on to "iBelong" and last summer the Mississippi Credit Union Association joined the promotion. The PCUA said it now lists more than700 participating CUs in the states in addition to Vermont's.
