Employees at the Federal Communications Commission, including its top brass, were recently reminded of the credit union difference.

NARFE Premier FCU President/CEO Anthony Walker gave a state of the credit union address to approximately 40 FCC employees, most of whom are members of the Alexandria, Va.-based credit union. FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein provided the opening remarks regarding the benefits of credit union membership.

Walker explained that because of remote delivery channels through online banking, more than 3,500 shared branches and 57,000 surcharge-free ATMs, the $125 million credit union is able to offer members higher interest on deposits and lower interest on loans. NARFE Premier FCU said it plans to visit FCC employees on a regular basis.
