A pair of credit unions using an online account opening solution from MeridianLink said they are seeing an increase in membership.

First Entertainment CU in Los Angeles said it opened 154 new accounts in the six weeks after the $710 million credit union launched its Opening Act online membership application service on Jan. 6.

Meanwhile, $924 million Associated Credit Union in suburban Atlanta said it added 1,790 new member accounts in 2008.

About 70 credit unions now use MeridianLink's online account opening solution, the Costa Mesa, Calif., company said.
