A top official of NCUA and representatives of CUNA and NAFCU are scheduled to testify at a Senate hearing tomorrow on deposit insurance.
NCUA Executive Director David Marquis will represent the agency, Terry West, president/CEO of Vystar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Florida will represent CUNA and David J. Wright, president/CEO of Services Center Federal Credit Union in Yankton, S.D., will testify on behalf of NAFCU.
Marquis, West and Wright will discuss the NCUSIF and pending legislative proposals to increase its borrowing authority and the time that the fund must be replenished.
The hearing is being held by the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, chaired by Senator Tim Johnson (D-S.D.). It is scheduled to start at 2:00.
