NCUA Chairman Michael E. Fryzel and NASCUS Chairman George Reynolds are both scheduled to discuss their views on how best to structure the regulation of financial services during a hearing next Thursday being held by the Senate Banking Committee.

The hearing is scheduled to cover subjects such as prudential and systemic risk regulation, consumer protection, access to credit and risk management.

Other witnesses include: FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair, Comptroller of the Currency John Dugan, Conference of State Bank Supervisors Chairman and Supervisor of the North Dakota Department of Financial Institutions Timothy J. Karski, Acting Director, Office of Thrift Supervision Scott M. Polakoff, and Federal Reserve Governor Daniel K. Tarullo.

Reynolds is the Senior Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Banking & Finance. He is in the second year of a two-year term as NASCUS chairman.

The Obama administration and congressional leaders have said that restructuring the way financial services are regulated is one of their top priorities.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on March 19.
