The chairmen of the committees that oversee financial issues, the top Republican in the House and all three NCUA board members are among the speakers at CUNA's Government Affairs Conference which starts on Monday.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd (D-Ct.) and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) are all scheduled to speak next Wednesday morning.

Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), the #2 member of the Financial Services Committee and one of the strongest supporters of credit unions is scheduled to speak Tuesday morning and Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Alabama), the ranking Republican on the panel is scheduled to speak next Wednesday morning as is Joint Economic Committee Chairman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY).

NCUA Chairman Michael E. Fryzel and Board Member Gigi Hyland are both scheduled to speak on Tuesday and Vice Chairman Rodney E. Hood is scheduled to speak on Wednesday.

The conference also features breakout sessions on topics ranging from the NCUA's corporate credit union rescue plan to how to handle the media. There will also be opportunities for attendees to go to Capitol Hill to discuss issues of importance to credit unions with lawmakers and their staffs.

CUNA expects more than 4,200 people to attend the conference which will be held at the Washington Convention Center.
