FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Underscoring a markedly-new tack for industry awareness, the Texas Credit Union League announced Friday it is venturing into online radio blogs and "social networking" by launching a monthly "BlogTalkRadio" program starting next Wednesday.
The live, 30-minute debut program to be broadcast "worldwide" will feature Richard Ensweiler, president/CEO of the league, hooked up with John Tippets, the retired president/CEO of Dallas-based American Airlines FCU, discussing "Credit Unions Help American Families Ride out the Economic Storm."
Under the "BlogTalkRadio" format, allowing businesses to "host your own show," audience participants connect with speakers "quickly and directly" in give-and-take questioning.

The Ensweiler show is being called "Your Money, Your Matters" and "will inform and educate the public on a wide array of issues related to personal finance, such as asset building, retirement planning, investments, etc."
In addition, the league which has been researching and testing the "BlogTalkRadio" vehicle for months said "Ensweiler will take advantage of this opportunity to address current issues, including the economy, financial marketplace and credit unions in general."
Other programs on the network such as "Getting Out of the Payday Trap" and 401 education are also being planned, said officials.
"Incorporating social media into our communications strategy just makes sense," said Ensweiler. "It's a valuable business tool and a cost effective way for us to reach the public."
