WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama and his family are scheduled to move to Washington on Sunday.
The family is moving 16 days before his scheduled inauguration to his daughters can begin at their new school-Sidwell Friends School–when classes start on Monday.
Obama is scheduled to meet with congressional leaders on Monday to discuss the economic stimulus legislation as well as other domestic policy issues.

The Obamas will be moving into the Hay-Adams Hotel, which is named for two people with connections to three presidents. The hotel is named for two people who had homes on the property before the hotel was built: Henry Adams, a distinguished author and descendent of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams; John Hay, a private secretary to President Lincoln and was secretary of state under Presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt.
The Obamas are scheduled to move into the Blair House, the White House's official guest house, on Jan. 15.
