WASHINGTON – The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that Belco Community Credit Union can keep its community charter that allows it to recruit members in a seven-county area in Central Pennsylvania.

Thursday's decision in a case filed by Pennsylvania Bankers Association upheld a 2006 lower-court ruling which said that the Pennsylvania Department of Banking was correct when it granted the Harrisburg-based credit union a community charter.

The state high court sent back to the lower court the question of how much access bankers have to information contained in Belco's application.
