SAN DIEGO -North Island Credit Union has chosen the Truemark service from Santa Clara-based Iconix Inc. (www.iconix.com) to help fight phishing.

The service places credit union's familiar logo on outgoing e-mails from the credit union (www.myisland.com) so the members know the message is legitimate and not an attempt to secure compromising account information.

"We selected the Iconix Truemark solution because it gives users the confidence of knowing they are actually receiving e-mail from the credit union, not a phishing trickster. Improving the integrity of e-mail enhances our online banking environment and is just one more way North Island Credit Union is working to improve the member experience," said David Delacalzada, the 103,000-member CU's senior vice president and chief information officer.
