TEXAS CITY, Texas - Next year AMOCO Federal Credit Union is giving four families the chance to Earn or Burn $20,000.
Effective Jan. 1, 2009, four AMOCO families will compete in a reality show format over a 10-month period for a chance to win the Earn or Burn grand prize. With the help of a financial coach each family will have to better their financial situation and create new habits to help reach monthly goals in search of the grand prize.
The challenge is designed to promote more financial literacy in the community and force members to think smart about money and learn how to make better decisions. Members can apply to be one of the four families online at www.earnorburn2009.com until Dec. 31, 2008. The site will also allow other members to follow the four families' progress and offer financial tips that can be implemented in their own lives.
