VIENNA, Va. — The D.C. Bowl Committee Inc. has announced an agreement that recognizes Navy Federal Credit Union as a founding sponsor of the inaugural EagleBank Bowl, which will be broadcast live on Dec. 20 from RFK Stadium in Washington.
"We are honored to be affiliated with the inaugural EagleBank Bowl," said Cutler Dawson, president/CEO of Navy Federal. "Being a founding sponsor of a brand-new bowl game is an exciting way for us to reach out to the local football community and to highlight support for the men and women and their families who serve our country."
The $35 billion Navy Federal joins Ameritel, EagleBank and Marriott as founding sponsors.
"Attracting quality sponsors is very important to both the overall success of the EagleBank Bowl and in underscoring our commitment to the military," said Sean Metcalf, founder of the EagleBank Bowl. "We hope to always have one of the service academies participating in the bowl game. Sponsors with strong ties to the military are necessary in making this possible."
The EagleBank Bowl first intercollegiate Division 1A bowl game and the first game of the 2008 post season will broadcast live on ESPN at 11 a.m. EST on Dec. 20.
