APPLE VALLEY, Minn. — Throughout the month of December, Wings Financial Federal Credit Union said it will donate $5 to the nonprofit Airline Ambassadors for every new member that joins the $2 billion financial institution.

Founded in 1992, Airline Ambassadors provides humanitarian aid to children and families in need as well as relief and development to under-privileged communities worldwide. They escort children, hand-deliver humanitarian aid to orphanages, clinics, and remote communities, raise public awareness and involve youth in humanitarian efforts around the world. The group is, in large part, made up of pilots, ground crew, flight attendants and other people involved in the airline industry.

"Wings Financial understands the aviation industry and understands our organization's membership," said Nancy Rivard, founder and president of Airline Ambassadors. "Our members are constantly on the go and work across the globe; here's a chance for them to tap the resources of a great financial organization and to help us extend our mission even further."
