BELLINGHAM, Wash. — In time with the holiday "and a gloomy economy," the $130 million Industrial Credit Union is giving away extra cash in one of its ATMs as part of a new branch promotion.
Starting this Wednesday the Bellingham CU will be randomly swapping 100 $20 bills in the ATM with $50 bills.
"We read about something like this being done several years ago and we thought we would try it to promote traffic and awareness at our Bradley branch which opened in September," explained Matt Vance, marketing coordinator.

As part of the branch promotion, under the title "Dough, Dough Dough-Spreading a Little Christmas Green," Industrial is sending out a direct mail piece to 5,100 households within a 2-mile radius of the Barkley branch.
Vance said the promo is being limited to the one ATM at the branch. The CU is also giving away free photos of children with Santa, said Vance.
