TAMPA, Fla. — GTE Federal Credit Union has helped ensure that local needy families will also enjoy turkey this Thanksgiving.
When Mercy Keepers Food Pantry Director Johnny Roberson mentioned on the local news that because donations have not kept pace with the growing demand for their services and he was worried that his organization would not have any turkeys to give those in need, GTE FCU branch representative Richelle Farrer turned to her co-workers for help.
Staffers in the nine GTE FCU West Region branches quickly raised $600 to buy 64 turkeys, which were donated to the food pantry.
