WASHINGTON — CUNA President and CEO Dan Mica will discuss opportunities and challenges to credit unions caused by the financial crisis and the new Congress and administration during a Web broadcast on Nov. 19.

"We are developing a vision for how credit unions can work for their members and the nation, through the Congress and the regulatory agencies, to help them through these difficult times," Mica said in a statement. "The Congress will have a 'working majority,' meaning that if they decide to do something quickly, they can move very fast. We are going to need to be ready to act in any number of ways."

Mica, a former Democratic congressman from Florida, will discuss the political environment and how credit unions can leverage their positive reputation to minimize the impact of the crisis on credit unions and their members.
