MADISON, Wis. — A group of CUNA Brokerage Services' financial advisers reached into their own pockets to donate to a relief fund to help families who have been dramatically affected by the economic downturn.
The Give Back fund was originally established to help families who experienced hardship as a result of natural disasters, such as the floods and tornadoes that ravaged the Midwest this year, according to CUNA Brokerage. Members of the company's senior adviser leadership team said they started to hear more stories about families who were struggling to get by in a troubled economy.
To assist, the advisers recently came together via an e-mail exchange to gather pledges. Within one hour, 15 personal pledges had exceeded $4,100, CUNA Brokerage said. Thirty-six advisers belong to the company's senior adviser leadership team. The Give Back fund is held at Cedar Falls Community CU.
