McLean, Va. — The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage this week averaged6.46% with an average 0.7 point for the week ending Oct. 30, 2008.That's up from last week when it averaged 6.04%.

Last year at this time, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged6.26%, according to Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Surveyreleased today.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage this week averaged 6.19% with anaverage 0.7 point, up from last week when it averaged 5.72%. A yearago at this time, the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged5.91%.
