Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., announced the promotion of Melissa Volk to senior manager of finance. Volk has been at Capital Communications for five years. Previously she was the controller. She will now assist the president with strategy, data analysis, asset liability, budget control and special projects.

SOUTH

Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla., announced that Douglas Drake was appointed senior vice president, chief operations office. In this position, Drake will direct the retail operations, sales, marketing and total member experience departments of the credit union. Prior to joining Grow Financial, Drake had served in senior leadership roles throughout the financial services industry, including chief operating office for all student loans in Los Angeles, senior vice president/retail for Fleet Bank and Investments of New York. Drake has also earned his Series 4, 7, 12, 24, 52 and 63 Insurance and Annuity licenses.

Keesler Federal Credit Union, Biloxi, Miss., announced four promotions. Patricia Coleman was promoted to assistant vice president of human resources. She started with the credit union in 2001 as a financial service representative. Rochelle Bowlin was promoted to assistant branch manager of the Ocean Springs branch. She started at the credit union in 2006 as a floating loan officer. Michelle Ellison was promoted to credit card manager. Ellison started at the credit union in 2003. Tricia Kitchens was promoted to assistant branch manager of the Picayune branch. She started with the credit union in 2005.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the promotion of Cindy Moran to vice president of member service for Central Texas. Moran previously served as the assistant vice president of the credit union's north district in San Antonio. Moran is a 14-year veteran for Security Service and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

MIDWEST

Iowa Credit Union League, Des Moines, announced the promotion of Murray Williams to chief operating office. Williams has worked at the league for the past 12 years in various capacities including, director of public affairs and strategic alliances and most recently as vice president. In his new role, Williams will manage the league's operations while overseeing dues and fee-based services and providing integration with the league's operating companies and partners. Williams was instrumental in developing some of the organization's newer operating companies, such as Community Business Lenders and Coopera Consulting. He has led legislative grassroots and media efforts and is a member of the Iowa and American Societies of Association Executives.

WEST

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, announced that Tammy Cantrelle-Smith has been appointed manager of the Sparks branch location. Cantrelle-Smith has worked in financial services for 17 years, and her entire career has been spent at S.P. Sparks Employees Federal Credit Union, which merged with Mountain American last year. Cantrelle-Smith started as a teller and most recently served as the vice president of operations. Cantrolle-Smith replaces Linda Stay, who retired earlier this year.

LBS Financial Credit Union, Long Beach, Calif., announced the retirement of Jack Bosna from its board of directors and the appointment of Douglas Wood as a new board member. Bosna set a record of 49 years of service for any volunteers or employee. Bosna started volunteering with the credit union in 1959 as a member of the LBS Financial supervisory committee and was elected to the board of directors in 1973. Wood was voted in by the board of directors to replace Bosna. Wood served as chairman of the board at Newport-Mesa Federal Credit Union, which merged with LBS Financial in 2001. He has been an associate board member since 2001.

SELCO Financial Solutions Team, Eugene, Ore., announced the hiring of Brenda Fritsch a financial consultant with CUSO Financial Services L.P. Fritschi will assist members at the Santa Clara branch. Fritsch has a background in human resources and worked many years administering employee benefits for government agencies.
