PLYMOUTH, Mich. — The Michigan Credit Union League is making adocumentary video about a real family that faced foreclosure andwas helped by a credit union and credit union partners.

The professionally produced 50-minute video will also offer tipson money management and include speakers such as a certifiedhousing counselor, representatives from the Michigan Credit UnionLeague, United Way and other community experts.

The video will be available on the Web sites of the MichiganCredit Union League, individual credit unions, Michigan StateUniversity Extension and the United Way.

In addition, 8,000 DVDs will be produced so as to reach thosewho do not have Internet access and will be distributed toleague-affiliated credit unions, legislators, public libraries andpublic access television stations.

The National Credit Union Foundation is providing $43,828 ingrant funds.

Michigan is one of five states where the overall foreclosurerate is the highest in the nation.
