PLYMOUTH, Mich. — The Michigan Credit Union League is making adocumentary video about a real family that faced foreclosure andwas helped by a credit union and credit union partners.
|The professionally produced 50-minute video will also offer tipson money management and include speakers such as a certifiedhousing counselor, representatives from the Michigan Credit UnionLeague, United Way and other community experts.
|The video will be available on the Web sites of the MichiganCredit Union League, individual credit unions, Michigan StateUniversity Extension and the United Way.
|In addition, 8,000 DVDs will be produced so as to reach thosewho do not have Internet access and will be distributed toleague-affiliated credit unions, legislators, public libraries andpublic access television stations.
|The National Credit Union Foundation is providing $43,828 ingrant funds.
|Michigan is one of five states where the overall foreclosurerate is the highest in the nation.
