HARAHAN, La. — As consumers worry about their finances and theeconomy, ASI Federal Credit Union is hoping to provide some answersto their questions by hosting a “Night Out Against Debt” on Nov.6.

The evening will feature a screening of the documentary film“Maxed Out,” as well as food, prizes, and information to helppeople better their financial situations.

“Maxed Out” takes viewers on a journey inside the American styleof debt, where things seem fine as long as the minimum monthlypayment arrives on time. With coverage that spans from smallAmerican towns all the way to the White House, the film shows howthe modern financial industry really works, explains the truedefinition of “preferred customer” and tells us why the poor aregetting poorer while the rich keep getting richer.

Following the movie screening, ASI staffers will be on hand tooffer free counseling to interested individuals on debt andfinancial management.
