WASHINGTON — Senate Banking Chairman Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) has announced plans to put together a legislative package that will include a temporary moratorium on foreclosures and legislation to stop predatory lending.

Dodd said the package will also include protection of homeownership under federal bankruptcy laws as well as reform of credit card marketing and billing practices.

Dodd said he is supportive of the recently passed financial rescue package but that more is needed–the financial health of the American consumer as well as the health of the American financial sector must also be addressed, he said in a written statement.
