WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Pacific Service Credit Union is offering its latest rates to anyone who wants to simply text a message to 60529.
Just send that number a message with the text "autorate" for auto loan rates, "cdrate" for certificates of deposit or "mmrate" for money market rates and the reply is quickly forthcoming.
For instance, when the rates for CDs ranged from 2.5% for six months to 4% for five years, the reply included an invitation to find out more at www.pacificservice.org.

The new service complements a mobile offering the $1.1 billion credit union launched in August that locates the nearest surcharge-free ATM for its 67,000 members. That requires texting an address with city and state to 692667.
