TAMPA, Fla. — As credit unions across the country find new waysto address consumer concerns over the safety of their deposits, theTampa Chapter of the Florida Credit Union League is gearing up tohost its first annual Credit Union Expo.
Open to the public, the free event offers an open invitation toconsumers to 'discover the difference' of credit union membership.The Expo will feature free financial seminars, a cash prize drawingand appearances by local credit union CEOs. In addition, formerTampa Bay Lightning Captain Dave Andreychuk will be the keynotespeaker at the inaugural event.
The move is viewed as an opportunity to promote the stability ofcredit unions while touting its advantages over for-profitfinancial institutions.
