BEDFORD, Mass. — Credit unions were not quite as much the apple of phishers' eyes in June, according to RSA Security.

The Internet security specialists at the EMC division's anti-fraud command center said 30% of the "banking entities" hit by phishing attacks that month were federal credit unions, compared with 34% against national banks and 36% against regional banks.

That's a sharp departure from May, when fully half of all phishing attacks in the U.S. were against CUs, RSA said, adding that the June numbers were more typical.
