DALLAS — Cardholders at some credit unions which process their card transactions with TNB Card Services responded enthusiastically to their CUs' recent balance transfer promotion.
TNB, which is the card processing arm of credit union owned Town North Bank, reported that credit unions participating in the balance transfer promotion saw an overall 3.8 % response rate and an average transfer of $3,590.
TNB credited this promotion's particular success to offering the lower balance transfer rate for the life of the transferred balance. This brought in an average $895 more than balance transfers where TNB credit unions offered the lower balance transfer rate for a more limited time, TNB reported.
