ATLANTA — As part of a collaborative kicked off last year, the Internal Revenue Service will host its quarterly conference call for credit unions that are either interested in or are currently participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

In 2007, the IRS' Financial Institutions Partnerships and Stakeholder, Partnership, Education and Communication divisions launched a credit union collaborative, which consists of credit unions and trade associations. The group gets together at least quarterly via conference call to discuss VITA, asset building models, articles for newsletters to national partners, and determine what customers are interested in seeing more information on, according to Debra Chandler, national credit union relationship manager and senior tax analyst with the IRS.

The conference call will take place 10:00-11:00 a.m. EST on Sept. 17. For dial-in information, contact Chandler at 404-338-8306 or [email protected].
