SAN ANTONIO — UNITED SA Federal Credit Union said it hasreceived the “Rising Star” recognition from the Small BusinessAdministration's San Antonio district office for its support oflocal small businesses.

The $215 million UNITED SA FCU was approved to start offeringSBA loans in May 2007 and in August 2007, received the agency'sExpress lender designation. The first SBA loan was approved inDecember 2007 and since then the credit union has completed 16 moreloans totaling $759,200 to assist members who are current oraspiring business owners, according to the credit union.

The credit union serves nearly 30,000 members.
