PITTSFIELD, Maine -- It may still be summer but SebasticookValley Federal Credit Union is looking to help its members staywarm this winter.

The credit union has brought back its popular 0% Energy LoanProgram, which allows current and new members to borrow up to$3,000 to cover the cost of home heating this winter, an increaseof $1,000 from last year. Highlighting the Energy Loan Program,SVFCU is offering members 0% APR financing, payable over a 12-monthterm. Qualifying members will receive a check made payable to theirfuel provider.

The credit union says the timing for the program couldn't bebetter, as oil companies are in the midst of preparing contractsfor the 2008-2009 winter season, and as the volatility of oilprices could lead to increased prices in the comingweeks/months.
