WASHINGTON — U.S. Reps. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) and Tim Walz (D-Minn.) both visited credit unions during the recent congressional recess to discuss regulatory relief and other issues important to credit unions.

Franks spoke to and met with executives at Arizona Federal Credit Union’s Bell Road Branch in Glendale. His visit was co-sponsored by Arizona Federal and the Arizona Credit Union League.

Walz met with 15 credit union employees and volunteers at the First Alliance Credit Union in Rochester. The meeting was part of the Minnesota Credit Union Network’s efforts to maintain regular contact with lawmakers.
