Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., announced the promotion of Michael Peteani to human resources manager. Peteani will oversee daily operations in the human resources department and will assist the vice president of human resources with new initiatives and activities. Theresa Trietiak was hired as talent acquisition specialist. Trietiak was most recently the senior human resources representative for Davis Vision and will be responsible for staffing and hiring efforts as well as human resource programs such as the new employee orientation program. Ann-Marie Comerie was hired as the human resources specialist. Comerie was previously employed as the human resources manager for Ordway Research.

CFE Federal Credit Union, Lake Mary, Fla., announced that President/CEO Joseph Melbourne received the Florida Credit Union League 2008 professional of the year award. The award recognizes the Florida credit union professional that deserves to be singled out for their contribution to advance the credit union movement in both Florida and the nation. Melbourne was chosen for the award by a panel of credit union executives and CEOs from across Florida.
Central Credit Union of Maryland, Baltimore, announced that CEO Lisa Jester was elected chairperson of the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Jester replaces past chair Rob Windsor, CEO of First Financial Federal Credit Union in Lutherville, Md. Jester will provide governance and strategic direction for the foundation. Jester was previously the vice chair.
Credit Union of Georgia, Woodstock, Ga., announced the promotion of Johnny Camp to the new positions of director of business development. Camp has been at Credit Union of Georgia since 2006. Camp is a 2005 graduate of Kennesaw State University, where he obtained a bachelor of arts degree in finance. Also, Kelly Jo Brooks was voted in as a supervisory committee member at the credit union. Brooks has worked in the education field for more than 17 years. She has been acting principal at Hickory Flat Elementary School since 2000 and has been appointed principal for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year at Joseph Knox Elementary School.
Right Choice Credit Union, Houston, announced the promotion of Patty Ryman to branch manager for the credit unions newest branch that opened at the Downtown KBR Tower at 601 Jefferson Street. Patty comes into the position with over 10 years of customer relations and financial services experiences.
Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced that Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Support Services Tim Lukomski was selected as part of the inaugural Indiana Credit Union League's ignite group. Ignite provides a forum for new-idea exchange and implementation, innovation, collaboration and networking for Indiana's credit union leaders and emerging leaders.
Fremont Federal Credit Union, Fremont, Ohio, announced the hiring of Abby Slemmer to the mortgage lending team. Slemmer has an MBA from Tiffin University, is the treasurer of Downtown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce budget and finance committee member and a city of Fremont revolving loan fund committee member.

Idaho Credit Union League, Boise, Idaho, announced the winner of this year's outstanding professional of the year award. Brent Neibaur CEO of Advantage Plus Credit Union in Pocatello was presented with the award at the league's 72nd annual meeting. Neibaur has been with Idaho credit unions for 20 years and places a high value on both member and employee relations. Neibaur also serves on the leagues board of directors. Aside from his roles in the credit union movement, Neibaur has accepted church and community responsibilities and is a member of the school board. In addition to receiving a plaque and a diamond lapel pin from the league a donation of $250 will be made to the National Credit Union Foundation in his name.
