SAN FRANCISO — The Richard Myles Johnson Foundation recently granted $22,500 toward two financial literacy efforts here.
The San Francisco chapter of the Financial Literacy Consortium Project will receive $20,000 to help launch multilingual, multicultural credit union financial literacy programs throughout the San Francisco Unified School District. The remaining $2,500 will go to Jones Methodist Church Credit Union to fund its production of a financial boot Camp, which it has offered to local children free of charge since 2006.
SFConsort is a partnership between the school district and eight Northern California credit unions.

"This grant will help support SFConsort's goal to serve all communities in San Francisco, including low-income and historically underserved Chinese, Asian-Pacific and Latino, Spanish-speaking communities, by increasing financial literacy and generating new credit union members," said Andrew Hunter, Patelco CEO.
