EUGENE, Ore. -- SELCO Community Credit Union said it received more than 2,500 online votes and handed out $11,000 in cash prizes as it wrapped up its "Your Big Break" do-it-yourself commercial contest.
Depicting a young girl earning her first dollars at a lemonade stand was good for $5,000 and the first prize for members Marshall and Haley Roeman, the $815 million credit union said.
Second place of $3,500 went to Elliot Heine for his untitled video that compared credit unions and banks, and third place, a $1,500 prize, went to Dustin Dybevik of Dedo De Luna Productions for his "Can You Thank Your Bank?" video.
Other cash prizes and awards were presented in a variety of categories at the recent screening and awards celebration at the SELCO Gateway Financial Center in Eugene.
Many of the winners and other entries will be used in upcoming local television commercials. The commercials can be viewed at www.selco.org/yourbigbreak.
