Holy Rosary Credit Union, Rochester, N. H., announced the promotion of Julie Coakley to director of lending. Coakley started at Holy Rosary in May of 2006 as the loan supervisor at the mortgage and loan Center. Coakley has residential and commercial loan certifications as well as American Institute of Banking certificates.

Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union, Lowell, Mass., announced that assistant vice president and director of community education Anne-Marie Bisson passed the certified educator in personal finance exam. The course is offered by the Center for Financial Certification in Portland, Maine, which is a division of the Institute for Financial Literacy. The CEPF certification trains financial educators to effectively communicate with students, teach the national standards in K-12 personal finance education as well as the national standard in adult financial literacy education.

San Antonio Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the promotion of Laura Teamor to assistant vice president and manager for its Houston Lending Operations. Teamor started at San Antonio FCU in 1994 and served for six years as a date entry supervisor for the indirect lending department. She later became operations supervisor for San Antonio direct loan servicing. In 2003, she moved to Houston to mange the Houston indirect lending operations team.

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, Cypress, Texas, announced the appointment of Alicia Mier as the branch manager for the new Skinner Road branch. Mier has been at Cy-Fair for over 12 years and was the branch manager for the Jones Road branch for the past two years. The new branch is the third Cy-Fair branch on Skinner Road and will open in June. Deanna Adegboye has been named assistant branch manager. Adegboye has worked at Cy-Fair for two and half years. Vicki Fleeger was appointed as teller supervisor at the new branch. Fleeger has worked at Cy-Fair for 14 years.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla., announced that its board of directors was reelected without opposition. The returning board of directors includes: Chair Maurice Johnson, Vice Chair Betty Petree, Treasurer Wanda Tyus, Secretary Anne McCall, John Cihota, Eileen Ehrsam and Grady Hester.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the hiring of Nancy O'Malley as vice president of asset recovery. O'Malley will be responsible for managing collection activities and developing new strategies that will help members find positive solutions to payment problems. Prior to joining Security Service, O'Malley was employed at USAA Federal Savings Bank where she worked in various positions such as senior attorney, assistant vice president and executive director.

MIDWEST

South Division, Evergreen Park. Ill., announced that President/CEO Geraldine Burek was elected to serve a three-year term on the Illinois Credit Union Foundation Board. Burek has been CEO of South Division since 1987, is a member and past chairman of the Illinois Credit Union Executives Society, has served on the Chicago Public Schools Local School Councils and the political campaigns of several political leaders.

WEST

E1 Financial Credit Union, Monterey Park, Calif., announced the promotions two employees. Jose Luevano and Rene Acevedo were both promoted to operations manager. Luevano will be managing the newly opened La Verne branch located inside Vons Lifestyle Supermarket. Acevedo will be managing the Rosemead branch located inside Wal-Mart.

Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., announced that manager of mortgage production Kathie Spurling was recognized as a 2008 Rising Star by The Colorado Springs Business Journal. Spurling was selected for the award for her involvement as a board member of the Credit Union Real Estate Network and the Credit Union Association Mortgage Roundtable. She also serves on the education committee for the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association. Spurling also volunteers at United Way, Relay for Life and Junior Achievement classes. The Rising Star program recognized business leaders under 40 who have made significant contributions to their chosen industries and community.

Missoula Federal Credit Union, Helena, Mont., announced that President/CEO Gary Clark was named the Montana Credit Union Professional of the Year for 2008. Clark has been working at Missoula for 13 years and started his credit union career as a lender and collector. The award is given by the Montana Credit Union Network.

Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Phoenix, announced the hiring of Sarah Hook the new director of training. Hook joins Desert Schools from Arizona Federal Credit Union where she spent four years in a similar role. Hook as a referral and call center selling certification through CUNA Mutual, in-store selling and coaching for performance certification from NCBS and certified coaching through the Game of Work organization.

Woodstone Credit Union, Federal Way, Wash., announced that President/CEO Susan Streifel accepted the position of chair of the awards committee and as member for the governmental affairs committee for CUNA. Streifel represents credit unions in District 6 in the category of those with a membership of 17,000 or less. Streifel has 29 years of not-for-profit financial cooperative experience and has been CEO of Woodstone since 2002.

Tempe Schools Credit Union, Tempe, Ariz., announced that Margaret Hunnicutt has been officially named CEO. Hunnicutt was previously chief financial officer and senior vice president and was filling in as interim CEO for the past two months. Hunnicutt has been with Tempe Schools for seven years as chief financial officer and senior vice president. During her seven years as CFO assets at Tempe Schools have risen more than 50%. Hunnicutt is a CPA and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Redwoon Credit Union, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., announced that president/CEO Brett Martinez was awarded the second annual "Credit Union for Kids Leadership Award" by CO-OP Financial Services. The award honors an individual for outstanding service to the Children's Miracle Network Credit Unions for Kids program. Martinez helped raise $150,000 to support Children's Hospital Oakland in 2007 by spearheading a direct fundraising campaign for credit unions in Oakland. Martinez also sponsored the California Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction and the Northern California Golf Tournament.
