WASHINGTON — Congressional staffers and other lobbyists give high marks to three of the credit union's top representatives in Washington, according to a leading political newspaper.

CUNA President Dan Mica and NAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Dan Berger and Director of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler were listed among "the best in the business for America's business sectors" by The Hill in its May 1 issue.

Jim Snyder, the newspaper's business and lobbying editor, said they did not take a formal survey to determine the 64 people who made the list but relied on interviews with House and Senate staffers and other people who lobby on Capitol Hill.

Mica, a former Democratic congressman from Florida, is "busy lobbying his former House colleagues for legislation that would allow credit unions to encroach on banks' turf," the newspaper wrote.

Berger and Thaler "have their fingerprints all over things related to financial services," according to The Hill.
